Rock Tape or Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology tape is a thin, stretchy, elastic cotton strip with acrylic adhesive. Unlike traditional athletic tape, K-Tape moves and functions similar to human skin, so it can be worn without binding, or restricting movement.
Typically it is used for treating athletic injuries, assisting in rehabilitation, decreasing pain, controlling edema, and joint proprioception.
Kinesiology Tape became well-known during the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games when countless athletes were seen using it. Today, it can be seen on athletes from every realm. Research shows that kinesiology taping can be effective in reducing pain, preventing injury, and allowing individuals to return to sport/work quicker.
